Mirabeau Gals at Cabane Bambou in Ramatuelle

Ahead of the crazy summer season, Jeany treated Virginie, Célia and myself to a wonderful day at the beach. She had booked a lunch at the fabulous Cabane Bambou in Ramatuelle. Being such a beach-bum, there couldn’t have been a better team-building for me. Luckily my fab colleagues agreed!

We hopped aboard the RoséRover earlyish in the morning, and took the very scenic route via La Garde-Freinet towards St Tropez. We found the beach bar with ease and were welcomed with glorious sunshine and a frosty glass of rosé wine. Naturally a quick photo shoot was in order; you can’t say beach without Pure! Despite the chilly sea temperature of early June, Virginie and I decided to brave the cold anyway and dived in head first. It’s not bad when your body is numb ;-)

There are a series of beach bars and restaurants along the Ramatuelle coast, south of St Tropez. Not to mention all the other beaches up and down the Côte d’Azur! The colour of the sea is simply mesmerising and the beaches vary incredibly. Some are sandy and long, while others are tiny pebbled bays. And when you discover a little French beach that doesn’t have many tourists, don’t tell a soul. Keep that secret to yourself and enjoy practising your French by talking with your neighbours, or eavesdropping if you’re not confident enough in the language of love.

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of the white Caribbean sand, palm trees and turquoise water. However, the more time I spend on the Med, the closer my dreamy beach life is being realised. The central location of Europe makes travelling far easier than being in the Caribbean. And it’s only an hour away from Cotignac, so it’s very easy to spend a day at the beach and return to the tranquility of our little Provençal village. La vie est belle !

Thanks Jeany and as they say in Dutch, “voor herhaling vatbaar!” [Let’s do that again!]
