Baked Chaource on Sourdough with Roasted Figs and Grapes

La Réserve is a lovely food friendly rosé and due to its rich and creamy character will pair very nicely with creamy cheeses. Chaource is one of our long-time favourites at home and works very nicely baked on a chunk of sourdough with roasted figs and grapes!  A lovely sharing starter or an easy-to-make main with a crunchy green side salad.  

Ingredients (4 Servings)

  • 1 Chaource Cheese
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread 
  • 1 bunch of red grapes
  • 2 figs 


Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.  

Slice the figs in half.  Wash and dry the grapes, before coating them in olive oil and salt. Place the grapes on a baking tray and place into the oven- they will need a good 20 minutes to roast.  

Add even slices of Chaource to the sourdough, place the fig on top, drizzle over some olive oil, salt and pepper. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese has become molten and the fig has caramelised on top.  

Remove the grapes and the slices from the oven, arrange the bread slices on a board or a dish with the roasted grapes placed in the middle for easy sharing. You can of course cut the slices down further into bite size chunks for an apéro platter.
