Online Life Drawing Art Class with Alexandria Coe

On the 8th March we celebrated International Women’s Day and to mark this special day and pay tribute to all the wonderful women in our lives we were delighted to host a special life drawing event in partnership with artist Alexandria Coe. Alexandria’s work is centred around nudity and the female form in its most pure and simple way. Of course, with that in mind it felt only fitting to be accompanied by a glass or two of our Pure rosé, to help unleash our inner artist.

Jeany kicked off the evening with a short introduction to Maison Mirabeau and the inspiration she draws from artists such as Alexandria into her work. She also guided us through a tasting of our new vintage release of our Pure Rosé, which is just beautifully clean and expressive this year with lovely aromas of peach, lychee and small red summer fruits. Truly the perfect wine to enjoy as those spring days start creeping in.

Over the course of the evening Alexandria guided us through simple techniques of how to capture the human body with the wonderful help of our gorgeous model Lily and then gradually built-in little tips and steps to create that depth of expression with minimal mark making that Alexandria achieves across her work.

Whilst we might not be hanging up the wine making apron just yet in exchange for a paintbrush or charcoal, it certainly unleashed our creativity and inspired us here at Mirabeau with a number of the team still practising and drawing!

It was wonderful to have so many of you join us and we loved seeing all of your works of art. Please do continue to share them with us and we hope that we have inspired you to keep drawing and enjoying our gorgeous rosés. Santé!
