London Taste Extravaganza

Despite the torrential rain and muddy paths, our second year at Taste of London was a huge success. Our goal at this incredible restaurant festival is to share the Mirabeau story and to let everyone know that our rosé is available at Waitrose. It’s wonderful connecting with so many new people, and of course meeting up with old friends who’ve been following the story and quaffing our wines for ages. We also really appreciate the feedback on our newsletter and blog articles, and are delighted to hear you love our recipes!

This year we had an extra special touch, with a superb food-and-wine pairing with M Restaurant who had a stand nearby. Their chef created a delicious Cobia fish dish to go with Pure and it was a match made in heaven.

I have to commend the great London public for their perseverance and tenacity in the cold, wet summer. You weren’t going to let some rain stop you from enjoying yourselves. Regular festival-goers came well-prepared wearing wellies, but others were thinking twice about muddying up their delicate summer sandals to reach for a glass of rosé. Marcel saved the day by hopping into a cab to buy some astro-turf, which we installed in no time. We didn’t want to deprive anyone of tasting ‘heaven in a glass’ (my pet name for this scrumptious pale pink).

Marcel snuck a moment of sunshine during one of the breaks to give everyone a glimpse of Taste …

Perhaps my favourite thing was watching people’s reactions at our large format bottles, the 6-litre Imperial or ‘Methuselah’ proved to be a very popular photo accessory (see an interesting list of bottle size names). Or maybe it was meeting our food and wine heroes? Or perhaps it was seeing the look of intense pleasure as people quaffed their familiar Provence rosé wine? Or maybe all of the above? Either way I’m looking forward to going back in 2017 and hope to see you there too!
