A Spooky 1920s’ Soirée at Always Sunday House

Last weekend we were back at our favourite place in Bath, Always Sunday House, for a very special event… An immersive 1920s’ dress up Murder Mystery evening!

Lexi Learmond, the founder of Always Sunday House, organises workshops, supper clubs and creative events in her beautiful Georgian house overlooking Bath. You might remember this event we collaborated on back in June, to celebrate International Rosé Day!

The house was as beautiful as we remembered it, if not more under the warm autumn light.

Before we knew it, the guests started to arrive and we were transported back into the Années Folles! Everybody played along and came dressed in beautiful 20s’-inspired clothes. Guests were welcomed with a glass of our sparkling rosé La Folie and tunes by The Gramaphone Guy. Needless to say our pink bubbly fitted perfectly in this environment.

For this event, Lexi called upon the services of the Old Bag Theatre Company, which performed throughout the evening an immersive theatrical experience: ‘Murder at Cumberland Villa’. The actors were fantastic. They kept interacting with guests in between scenes while staying in character, which surprised more than one at first!

Halfway through the evening the spooky side of the soirée started to show, with a first victim being found in the bathtub covered in (fake!) blood! Soon after came the second one, and it was so exciting to see the guests try and discover who the murderer was.

Well done Lexi for this brilliant evening, and promise, we won’t reveal who dunnit…!
