A sparkling brunch at Château de Robernier

Lizzie and I drove up the magnificent driveway to Château de Robernier, and were ushered into place by the super efficient wedding planner Jennifer of Lavender & Rose Weddings, doing our utmost not to drive on the grass. As we opened up the bar, we took in the magnificent scenery. Elegant tables with citrus and lavender framed by the château on one side, and a sweeping vista on the other. There are worse places to spend your Sunday working. Our lovely task was to serve the delicious La Folie sparkling rosé wine to the guests for the afternoon.

The DJ was superb, playing very laid-back music that totally suited the mood of the guests, with a variety of genres sung in both English and French. The guests happily shared memories with us about the wedding the night before, and how much they enjoyed drinking our Pure rosé. It was an interesting crowd with people from across the pond (silicone valley), and many from Durham, where our lovely Lizzie is studying. Lots of interesting conversations ensued, including that of quantum computing and using Arabic for rebuilding war-torn countries.

The bubbly was going down very well in the warm Provençal sunshine. By 3 o’clock, the guests were sneaking inside to change into their swimming gear, and a gentle pool party ensued. When the bridal couple took to the pebbled poolside and danced their well-practiced cha cha cha, I couldn’t help but shed a tear. Getting married is so full of hope and enthusiasm, for the good times to come, as well as for handling the inevitable difficult moments side-by-side. We wish this lovely couple a wonderful life together!

Thanks for letting us be part of this special life event.

May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face.
And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
